Awesome! Let's sweep Alternative too! This may seem ignorant but what exactly is the difference among Rock, Active Rock, and Alternative? What makes a song qualify for only one or two-three of them? |

Okay, the way ive always understood is (could be wrong...)
Rock - covers the new releases of most of the sub-genres of rock.
Rock AC - focuses more on the hits of the last 10-15 years, not so much the new stuff.
Active Rock - plays a mix of previous hits and new releases, generally considered hard rock.
Alternative Rock - plays a playlist designed esp for teenagers, used to be mainly alternative/grunge stuff, but has gradually moved to heavier stuff.
Classic Rock - plays a playlist designed esp for adults, mainly hits from the 60-80s period.
Modern Rock - similiar to Rock, but focuses on band formed in the last 5-10 years.

I was trying to explain the formats, i assumed you knew what alternative meant. Regardless my point is that the format is no longer restricted to just Alternative music.

Okay, I think I get that. lol Cause a lot of the releases just confuse me. Anberlin seems to release only to Alternative while Skillet and Red release to Active Rock/Rock and I guess now Skillet is going to Alternative. Gets confusing about who qualifies for what after awhile. lol |
