I'm old enough to vote, and I am going to do so this year, but I still hate politics and the majoroty of it confuses me to death. All I know is that we are spending way more money than we are making, we are fighting useless wars in other countries that are costing us billions of dollars, and the only person who actually has a plan to try and bale us out is Ron Paul. He's the only one I see with ideas to get this country out of the mess it's in. The media is doing a good job of making him look like a freak, but I have agreed with everything he's said so far (and I'm surrounded by Ron Paul fanatics who I know know a lot about politics).

Plus, he supports homeschooling and he's pro-life.

How can libertarian be pro-life? I never understood that, but maybe your friends do.

Haha my "friends" mostly consist of my parents, so I hear that much more about Ron Paul. Basically, he was a doctor, he delivered thousands of children, and he understands that the child is very much alive from the moment of conception. That's something I love. He's not only pro-life because he believes it's morally right, but because he's experienced it first hand.

That is very admirable, & I am glad Ron Paul has a strong rationale for his stance on that issue.

Libertarian is about as useful a label as conservative or liberal. It encompasses everything from socialists to Paul-ites to anarchists. Paul is certainly Pro-life in that he supports legislation to oppose abortion, though he is pretty much a die-hard for states rights, so I don't know if he'd do anything as president to pass anything on the federal level, then again he'd veto anything pro-choice as well.

But it's also possible to be against certain behaviors and still oppose making them illegal. For instance I think it is better to invest in Crisis Pregnancy Centers than in trying to reverse Roe v. Wade.

That is one thing I love about Ron Paul. With the exception of maybe Santorum, he's probably the strongest pro-life candidate there is. He actually witnessed a partial-birth abortion and that strengthened his pro-life stance more than anything else. Someone being pro-life is extremely important for me (which is a reason I like IFH so much) and I definitely won't vote for anyone who is pro-choice. One of the few times I'll sit and listen to politicians is when it comes to abortion. I actually watched most of the Republican debates in Sioux City just to listen to their stance on abortion. Then I stopped watching after that. :-P

Speaking of pro-life stuff, I found this video today that is amazing. Makes me really wish I was still going to D.C this Monday. Stupid airlines. >:-( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StS3nUpDNqc&feature=player_embedded

Still, his voting record in the House on abortion, where he had something he could do about it, was abyssmal. Like President Obama before arriving to power, Paul would vote no or present at every vote just to stay ideologically consistent.

Most definitely Grin The setlist is very solid too, IMO. Wish they were still playing Up Against the Ropes and The Eleventh Hour, but otherwise very solid Cool

Once someone put August Burns Red on the car speakers and my 7yo sister covered her ears and almost started crying...then that person tried in vain to explain "They really do love Jesus they just sing about him differently"

Conclusion: ABR scares small children Shocked
