Anyone know how skillet and/or their booking agency schedules shows? Is it only as people book them, or do they have a say in where they go? Just wondering, 'cause i don't think we've ever had them here in VaBeach, VA. Somebody needs to convince them to come here!!!!! They could stay at an oceanfront hotel, take long walks on sunny beaches, and go surfing, if they're into that sorta thing. Although....being from TN, i don't think they have big waves there.....

well, they have to have someone actually book the show in order for them to go to a particular city. The best thing to do would be to find a promoter in your area and convince them to book them. You might try contact Jeff Roberts & Associates (Skillet's booking agent)... they might be able to give you the names of some promoters in that area.

Man, I know this guy, he's the youth pastor at a local church (not the one I go to, though) AND he owns a rockin' Christian bookstore. He got Relient K to come on Nov. 6 (It's gunna rock! ), and I NEED to talk to him about booking Skillet!!!!

You can also get your radio stations to book them. They do that. Start harrasing them via email.

harassing = not cool. makes the band look bad. you can send them emails every week or so requesting it. but full on harassing and bugging them (to an unreasonable extent) is not nice.

This is what I'm doing...to get Skillet to come here. I just recently found contact with a music promoter/booking agent at a Christian/mainstream venue. We are heavily affilated with him, and is interested in booking Skillet. This is the part where the $10,000 it costs to book Skillet comes in. (Unless of course they are already in your state. It varies under circumstances.) You get churches and youth groups to support the concert, and you sell tickets to get back some of the money that went into booking the band. You also have to have a venue...in which in my case, the promoter has his own venue. So it all works out. The of course, you must allow time to properly promote the concert by way of radio, promoting team, etc. Note that the booking agent is also a promoter. Just take a look at your contacts and resources and see what you come up with. ALSO!! you have to provide sound and lighting, and/or lodging for the band. (also depending on their schedules and what state you are in.) So just keep that in mind with costs as well.
