Hey guys,
Letting all of you know the Abilene show was very awesome. I had one of my students with me because his mother bought him a VIP ticket for his birthday and we were let known it'd be a meet and greet, however it ended up being a q&a session so we were both a little disappointed that we drove 4 hours to see them and wouldn't get to meet them. However, due to the venue of the show, all tour buses for each band was very accessible so I took the idea to hang out by the Skillet bus and just test our fates with a about 5 others hanging around the bus. One of the venue's security guards, let us know that we were wasting our time and that as soon as Skillet does come out of the auditorium that they are going straight to the bus and will not sign anything. We all still waited around for about 30 minutes or so and Ben came out of the auditorium and he didn't head straight for the bus but saw us guys and started talking and asked us if we wanted stuff signed and pictures. We didn't turn him down so he signed some stuff for us and I got a photo opportunity with him, later Scotty Rock came out and saw us hanging there, and he told everybody that he'd go back in and get John so John came out and once again, was more than willing to not turn down a fan. I asked my student if he would ever forget this birthday gift and John heard it and wished him a happy birthday. I made the guys day I know that.
The concert was well worth it. I loved the music of all 4 bands, and FINALLY getting to meet Skillet after 5 concerts was really worth the drive and having to get back waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy late. I only got a couple hours of sleep but now I get to goto work and teach for the day!
